In early 2020, the world changed dramatically as the COVID-19 pandemic spread across the globe Almost overnight, we modified the way we work and totally redesigned the way in which our economy functions.

Even more fundamentally, we changed the way we relate to one another. No longer able to spend time together in person, we began spending time together in video conferences. Just as our relationships were changed, our social and cultural lives also moved into digital spaces in order to avoid them disappearing completely.

This continuity was enabled by the rapid advances in modern technologies. As we look ahead to the challenges our economy will face in the years to come, pandemic disruption may return, and climate change disruption is a near certainty.
