Quelle maison pour dieu ?

Dans une religion de l'alliance, la question se pose de la rencontre avec Dieu et de manière subordonnée la question de l'habitation de Dieu sur terre. Elle hante la conscience des croyants et du peuple élu dont la Bible décrit l'itinéraire. Comment l'habitation de Dieu sur la terre, dont il est le créateur, est-elle conçue dans la Bible et dans la littérature intertestamentaire, étant entendu que cette habitation ne se limite pas forcément au Temple ? Comment la « maison » de Dieu est-elle symbolisée ? De quelle théologie est-elle porteuse ? Avec quels avantages, quels problèmes, quelles perversions ?
