L'analyse de leur relation a des répercussions pour l'ecclésiologie, notamment en ce qui concerne les liens entre la théologie et le droit de l'Église. L'auteur propose une véritable interprétation théologique de la position du concile Vatican II qui n'utilise pas cette distinction.

Between their appearance in theological and canonic doctrine at the end of the 12th century and modern times, these two notions (order and jurisdiction) have considerably evolved. The analysis of their relation has repercussions for ecclesiology, especially concerning links between theology and the law of the Church. The author offers an authentic theological interpretation of the position of Council Vatican II which does not employ this distinction.
