History of the louvre (version anglaise)

Did you know that the Louvre was a palace before it became a museum? It was even a fortress in the time of Philip II (known as Philip Augustus) of France! Several kings of France, including Charles V, Francis I, Henry II and Louis XIV, lived there before it was gradually abandoned. Today it is one of the most famous museums that attracts tourists from all over the world who flock to see the masterpieces of art in the collection: can you name some of them?

Sais-tu qu’avant de devenir un musée, le Louvre était un palais ? C’était même une forteresse au temps de Philippe Auguste !
