Alexandre Jollien, a student in philosophy who has suffered from a motor disability since birth, gives an account of his experience in a specialized institution, in the form of a dialogue with Socrates. The discussion, profoundly humanistic, treats themes such as ‘difference' and ‘nomality'. ‘Alexandre Jollien's book is infinitely precious to me because it provides a living, sincere and genuine testimony of that ancient (being Aristotelian) conviction, which is nevertheless constantly under threat: that man can be, and is, the friend of man.
